Drew Struzan is an illustrator and painter. He has illustrated several movies like ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Indiana Jones’, ‘Back to the Future’, ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ and the ‘Star Wars’ film series. Struzan produces a lot of movie posters for film directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, and is often first choice for other film directors. The media he mostly uses in his work is airbrush and acrylic paints. I think his posters are excellent to look at because they show a visual response to the atmosphere and the mood of the movies. His posters make you think about what the story in the film is about. The figures in his posters always have an expression of their faces which reflect their stories in the movie. Drew Struzan is a big influence on me because his posters always stick to the subject matter. He makes me want to paint posters in that style. One of my favourite things about Drew Struzan is that his artwork is seen by millions of people all over the world, and that’s something all illustrators dream off.
