Sam Weber is a modern illustrator who uses traditional painting techniques. He also sometimes combines digital art programs with his hand painted illustration. He does watercolour paintings that are later refined in Photoshop. The paintings he has done in watercolours don’t look like they were done watercolours. The figures and the backgrounds look so realistic, they look like a still from a film. The way he paints is very traditional because his watercolour paintings look like he has used an oil painting technique building the paint up in layers. Sam Weber as become one of my favourite modern day illustrators because his work is so beautiful to look. Some of his illustrations remind me of some of James Jean's paintings. Even though he has a historical way of working he has found his own unique style that he can call his own.
